Creative Arts
The Creative Arts Department values each learner and provides students with a well-rounded education that fosters creativity, personal growth, and self-expression. We pride ourselves on creating an exciting, challenging, and supportive environment, which allows students to thrive and make excellent progress. Our aim is to provide our students with diverse opportunities to develop their talents and interests, as well as to enhance their overall academic and social development.
Students at KS3 receive two lessons a fortnight of Art, Drama and Music, and can work towards their Discover, Bronze, Silver, and Gold Arts Award. There is a busy extra-curricular programme of inclusive activities to support the faculty's public performances, and wider school events. This is in addition to the partnerships with our feeder primary schools and the local community to showcase student’s work.
Students can continue their studies at KS4 and KS5 with a wide range of popular creative arts courses: GCSE Art, Photography, Music, Drama and A level Fine Art, Photography, Theatre Studies and Music.
Throughout their time at Settle College, students can take part in a variety of trips and projects. Recent activities have included a trip to the Leeds Theatre to see "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" and creating sculptures for the renowned "Settle Flowerpot Festival". Our recent production of "Aladdin Junior" was a huge success, and we are currently working on a vocal project in collaboration with several other schools.
Ultimately, the outstanding Creative Arts program in at Settle College makes a positive contribution to the overall educational experience of our students, helping them to become confident, creative, and well-rounded individuals.
